Storm casualty. The taller locust fell and crushed two river birches in its path. Lost numerous branches and the tops of 8 large evergreens - a few were snapped in half. I think Mother Nature might be mad...
Last Galapagos pic of the one sea lion pup we were able to smuggle home. Named him Thomas.
The most incredible thing about the Galapagos is that the animals seem utterly un-phased by our presence and proximity. Only the penguins were shy, but they still swam up close to check us out.
Woke up at first light in a bay of Isabella Island having motored overnight from Floriana Island. Today we may see whales in the cold waters off the western side of the Galapagos.
Harriet we'd like you to meet your new brother.
First sight of the Galapagos
When Harrie was a puppy she would charge up the stairs after us to come inside - often slipping on one of the steps, and being so tiny, she'd fly through the open risers into the cushion of Virginia Creeper and weeds. Safety Gardening
Hard to leave them
Made it to Austin last night
BFN PT - see you soon!
My office this past week with a small assistant hard at work
Reminds me of you and Southampton @karengroos XO
Hard to imagine this great country and the freedom we enjoy to live our lives and pursue our happiness without the men and women who defend it everyday.
Peony beds like popcorn heating up when just the first few kernels have popped.
My flat tire on First Neck was the calmest and easiest part of my day. And though I am pretty much tuckered out before 10:00pm, I am happy to have installed for one client I love and gotten to have a delicious dinner with another. Reminds me that I really wouldn't be here if it weren't for the people who trust me and let me help them.
